Loire Cycling Holidays 2019 – A great season!
Our Loire cycling holiday 2019 season is over and what a great season it was!
Our busiest cycling season ever with 12 Loire Valley Discovery Tours and short cycling breaks in between. We made the most of a long hot summer here in the Loire Valley, France.
We hosted guests from all over the world, allowing them to experience our region on our bespoke cycle routes. The new route to Saumur was a highlight – flat, easy to navigate, coffee stops en-route and finished off with time to explore the town and then a unique underground cycle ride with wine tasting!
Like much of Europe, we had spells of really hot weather and guests made great use of the pool and enjoyed evenings eating on the terrace, gazing at the sunflowers that surrounded Gue de Ray. The heat arrives late in the day in the Loire Valley, so the daily cycle tours were finished by the time the high temperatures arrived.
This year we hired out more electric bikes than ever before. They’ve proved perfect for couples and groups of mixed abilities. With batteries that last up to 65kms there’s no need to worry about running out of power!
On the food front, this season’s menus have been a great success. We continue to use only the best locally grown produce, some of it from our own organic plot and then we let the flavours speak for themselves. We’re developing our contacts with more small local producers and aim to offer even more delights next year! As usual, our guests sampled at least fifteen delicious French cheeses during their stay, so the cheese course was eagerly anticipated!
Advance bookings are looking great, with 40% of next year’s spaces already sold, but we won’t be sitting on our laurels and have plenty of plans for our 2020 Cycling Holidays in the Loire Valley – we’ll keep you posted!
Thanks to all of you who put your trust in us for our Loire cycling holiday 2019 season – we enjoyed hosting you all!
