Loire Valley Hire Bikes – Hybrid, Electric & Road
The cost of a hire bike is included in our Loire Valley Discovery Tour and Loire Valley Short Break prices. We’re happy for you to bring your own bike and we’ll apply a discount to the price. You can also upgrade your hire bike to a road bike or electric bike.
The Hire Bikes
For some, cycling holidays in France are about relaxing and soaking up the scenery without too much effort. For others, it’s about recreating that ‘Tour de France’ feeling! We have bikes that can satisfy both aims.
Hybrid Touring Bikes
Our standard touring hybrids have either 21 or 24 gears, fixed front forks to keep the weight down and plenty of headset adjustment so we can make you comfortable.
Hybrid Bike Equipment
- Handlebar Bag or Panier
- Rear bike rack
- Bottle holder & Water Bottle
- Odometer & Map Holder
- Bike Lock
- Puncture repair equipment
Our electric bikes are Gitane’s Organe’e with an uprated battery, giving a range of around 65 kms, which is plenty for our routes and terrain. The e-bikes come with the same equipment as the hybrid bikes, with the exception of a bottle holder.
There is a €100 supplement to hire an e-bike and we take a €500 damage/theft deposit via a credit card pre-authorisation. We have limited availability, so book early if you want an e-bike.
Carbon Fork Road Bikes
Our road bikes are Orbea’s Avant model with carbon forks and flat handlebars. As standard they are fitted with flat pedals but we’re happy to fit your pedals if you bring them with you. Being road bikes, they don’t come racks or panniers, but a bottle holder, locks, odometer and puncture repair kit is provided

Garmin GPS Hire
We provide you with brilliantly detailed paper maps and written instructions for all our routes, but we also have Garmin GPS units for rent. The unit is preloaded with our Loire Valley cycle routes – making navigation even easier. Ask us for details.
Support and Extra Help
We are also happy to fit your own saddle, pedals or your GPS to our bikes for the duration of your cycling holiday – just let us know when you book so that we can have the bike ready to recieve your equipment when you arrive!
When you are out on the road we will assist you in the event of major technical failure, but it really helps us if you are able to mend punctures with the equipment we provide. If you can’t we will get out to you as soon as possible to change the tyre for you – but bear in mind you may be over 35kms away.
If you have brought your own bike, then you are more than welcome to use the bike stands and tools that we have available.
