Rent our beautiful french country cottage, L’Ancienne Cure and explore the Loire Valley using the marked Loire Valley cycle routes in the area.
In the cottage, you’ll find maps for the most local cycle routes and lots of hints and tips for cycle routes further afield. This cycling holiday is perfect for travellers with their own car transport and who want the flexibility a self catering holiday offers. Adult bike hire is available – just ask us for details.
The Property – L’Ancienne Cure
Our cottage, “L’Ancienne Cure” has a private and secluded location in the small village of Breil.
Sleeping four adults in considerable comfort, it has king sized beds, a modern, fully fitted kitchen and luxury bathroom. The living space is vast, oak beamed and completed with a stone fireplace with wood-burner. There’s free WIFI, UK and french television. There is also a large south facing, secluded garden with BBQ. For bike storage there is a large secure barn and the cottage has off-road parking for two cars.

The Loire Valley Cycling Routes
Marked cycle routes have exploded in the Loire Valley and now the countryside is criss-crossed with routes provided by different councils and tourist organisations.
Local routes for great Loire Valley cycling
There are five marked cycle routes easily accessed from L’Ancienne Cure, with several passing right by the door, and the maps for these are provided in the cottage.
Each route has a theme and a story through our beautiful countryside. All the cycle routes are well marked and easy to follow.
24 – Gizeux and the Surrounding Area – Between forest & castle – 34kms
25 – Rillé Lake – Nature Sculpture – 18kms
26 – Rillé Lake – Wild Nature or Tamed Nature – 17kms
27 – Savigné-sur-Lathan, Rillé Lake, Gizeux Castle – In the heart of the “Savignéen” – 36kms
28 – Val Joyeux Lake Touraine Countryside – 25kms

There is WIFI in the cottage, so it’s very easy to plan your routes whilst you are there using the above links. We also provide a folder of information covering the main routes in our area of the Loire Valley.

Of course, if you prefer your cycling to be planned for you, with backup support, and you want access to our bespoke cycling routes, then you need to take part in either our Loire Valley Discovery Cycling Tours or Loire Valley Cycling Breaks!
